How do I seperate SVG files?

Hello:

Im confused i downoaded a couple svg files and if I just want to pick up one of the designs instead of using the whole svg file what do I do? I dont know what inkscape is either I have SCAL 2.. I would really appreciate your help..

Once you open it in SCAL you should be able to UNGROUP and then highlight the ones you don't want and delete them. you can find ungroup under OBJECT at the top of the page. If that won't work you will have to use Inkscape or a program like it.

Not all svgs will ungroup in SCAL2 .. but like Jrichards said use inkscape if you have it... it's a free program that you download and can even use it to create your own designs...

Thanks so much I just downloaded Inkscape I love it I can make all my SVG files now yay!!

I haven't yet figured out how to use inkscape and have also been trying to separate SVG files. I guess one of these days when I have some quiet time when my munchkin is napping, I'll have to watch the tutorials on inkscape so I can figure out how to do this!
