how to creat a scalloped square in inkscape

Hey all, while I know this is not a forum for inkscape I was hoping someone could help me create a scalloped square in Inkscape. I have figured out how to accomplish a scalloped circle but can't seem to figure out the square.

I use the create clones feature to make a grid of circles, draw a rectangle in the center and then union everything together. If you don't want to make your own, you can always download my free font made especially for SCAL which includes scalloped squares and other popular cutting shapes... over 90 of them.
