Removing score lines
Removing score lines
Is there a tutorial for removing score lines from imported templates in Inkscape? I am attaching an example of a template.

Re: Removing score lines
If you select the object in Inkscape and press F2 on your keyboard that will activate the Node Editing Tool. You will notice that the lines of the artwork will have a lot of little squares on them.
Click on the nodes (little squares) that make up the score lines and press delete on your keyboard. That will delete the nodes one at a time. If you Press and Hold the Shift Key while selecting the nodes you will select a group of nodes and this will allow you to delete a group of them at once.
Have a go. If you make a mistake just press the Undo last action button from the tool bar.
Cheers

Hi Craig
I tried pressing F2 using the template I attached to my post and I didn't get the little nodes. A circle came up with an option to move objects.

Re: Removing score lines
Firstly is the template a SVG file?
If it is, it may be grouped together. So you will need to ungroup it a few times. Try selecting from the tool bar Object - Ungroup a few times (or Ctrl + Shift + G)
Hopfully then you will be able select the nodes.
If that fails then can you post up the cut file you want modifying and I'll have a look at it
Cheers

Re: Removing score lines
If the item you have imported is a graphic picture (jpg, gif, bmp, etc), you can do one of two things.
Bring the picture into whatever graphics programs you have FIRST and erase the score lines.
Or trace the bitmap in inkscape then remove them after the fact by deleting the nodes.
I am unaware of a way to alter a bitmap directly in inkscape (although that doesn't mean you can't).

Re: Removing score lines
I'm wondering if you can just Ungroup everything and Path > Union to get rid of all the insides. I guess that would be like a blackout.

Re: Removing score lines
This is what I figured out on inscape./. Just move the score lines out of the way..
