I need help with importing svg into scal

Post by ScoutLady »

I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out why this isn't working. I have a pdf template which I imported into inkscape. I used ungroup and removed all the printing and the dotted lines and saved the file as a svg. It looks great in Inkscape. I then import the file into SCAL (the original as I can't figure out how to even open a file in SCAL 2) and it does not look like it does in inkscape. Why?????

I really want to make these shoes with my Cricut but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. If anyone can help and tell me why the cut is no longer symetrical when imported into scal I would be very grateful.

Unsure what you mean by doesn't look like it does in Inkscape. Could you screen shot it . The screen shot you posted is so small really hard to see.

But try this. Go back and re open it in Inkscape and highlight it to see if it still has groups still in it. I know in Scal 1. you can't get a correct svg wheln you import grouped objects into Scal. Since I don't have SCAL 2 unsure.

One other thing about pdf's. the ones that are made correctly will open and import in Inkscape but if the lines are not conected you will need to connect them. Lots of lines drawing will come in detached. In Inkscape the best and fast way to find out if they are broken lines just click on a color and color them. It will show at a glance if they are broken. Not all will be colored.
Good Luck Wish I knew more about Scal 2 for you
