If Cricut is busy cutting designs I made on SCAL or DS, can I minimize program and go work on some other program or will it ruin what C is cutting?

I don't know about DS, but I often either work in Inkscape or browse online while waiting for complex cuts to finish. The only problem is if your computer is getting old (like mine) and sometimes runs out of resources. I wouldn't try cutting something and working on a large Ink file, or use the paint bucket in Ink, or use Ink and Photoshop. HTH
