Hello All,

I really want to purchase SCAL but I already did the update for the Cricut DS. If I purchase SCAL will it work?

Please help.

Thanks,

If you have the right firmware it should! Do the trial to make sure everything is hooked up right and follow ALL the directions. You will wonder what took you so long to do it!!! And WELCOME! TONS of help here! I'm a puta idiot and I figured it all out. What I didn't know someone helped with! Go for it!

Just so you'll know...I just bought SCAL this past weekend after having done the CDS update. I did have terrible problems with my blade dragging, BUT I emailed support (Todd) and had a reply within hours with step-by-step instructions for fixing it. Now everything works beautifully! I've heard of people, though, who had no problems whatsoever after doing the update, so you may not either. This program is so worth any tinkering you may have to do and support is wonderful.

I have emailed Todd three times asking him if it will even work on my computer if I downloaded the new update and he has not gotten back to me. That is why I am so scared to even try to purchase this software.

I would download the trial version but I downloaded it a long time ago and got busy and never used it and now it will not let me use the trial version because it ran out of time.

Any ideas how to use the trial version again so I can see if it works now?

I just did the CDS update too... I also took the plunge, and bought SCAL... I also had terrible problems with my blade dragging... Todd was very helpful, and supplied the link to the original CDS.

My blade was still dragging... What I didn't know was that after you instal the right thing, you need to go to CDS and update the firmware... Now everything works great...

You will not be dissapointed in this software... You can cut all kinds of things with out owning the carts too... Plus, there is grouping, and welding now too...

Here's some peer pressure: do it, do it, do it, do it!!!

But Todd will not even get back to me on my current questions. How do I know he will get back to me and help me once I buy the software download?

If he was getting back to me about my questions now I would have already bought the software.

I am so frustrated I am about to give up on this product.

Nicole,
If he's not answering you, I would wait until you get an answer. I no longer update CDS as I am now suspicious that PC, given their comments, will try to block SCAL and I don't want the hassle. Given that you've already updated, you should probably wait for an answer from Todd. Based on my experiences with him, I'm confident he'll get back to you and that he'll have an answer for you and you'll be downloading SCAL in no time!

Nicole,

Dido! I too think it made owning the cricut "worth it". When I first bought the cricut (I've owned almost every die cut machine out there) I thought it was just an expensive die cut machine that I had to "program" to get it to work. Took longer than my other diecut machines, wasted more paper and wasn't as "user friendly". Granted I still really liked it, but I was questioning my decision to buy it.

With SCAL I am no longer questioning my decision to buy it and am actually considering selling my other diecut machines!! SCAL gives you the freedom and flexibility to cut ANYTHING you need and has a lot smaller learning curve than the Cricut machine itself has. I definitely DON'T regret buying it and would recommend it to all my friends.

As far as Todd not getting back to you, there must be a reason. He's always been prompt and very helpful even before I bought the full version of the software. Check your junk mail and also check the email address you are using to make sure it is current.

Good luck in your decision.

I don't need to be begged I really want this program I just am not very good with computers and really want to fill confidant in Todd before I purchase. I understand he is getting back to everyone else however he is not getting back to me.

I checked my junk mail and nothing. I checked my deleted email and nothing.

He got back to me the very first time I emailed him and I followed his email up with a question and he did not answer that email or my other two following it a few days later.

I use my Cricut a lot and I just don't want to purchse this software and than have problems and not be able to get answers and help.

If Todd got back to me I would have already purchased this software.
