Trial Version

Post by Karen »

I downloaded the trial version of SCAL. I realize that I can't cut unless I purchase the full version. If I just wanted to play (want to do wall sayings) do I need to do it in Inkscape or can I design it directly on the mat? The fonts that show up are they the ones that are loaded on my machine? If I want to download more do I just add them to my font directory?

What is the link to download Inkscape.

I attempted to follow the link to allow me to see the new cart but still be able to use SCAL but only got a few steps in when I became confused.

I didn't update to the new software and I am pretty sure I won't be needing it. I will only update if Todd sends an email that it is needed. Since I have to choose, I choose SCAL.

You can cut just using SCAL. Just type what you want on the screen and cut. Inkscape is a very good program that has a learning curve. There are some things that are easy but believe me, there is a curve. One of the members posted tutorials to get you started here http://craftedge.com/tutorials/tutorials.html

The website for Inkscape is http://www.inkscape.org

I use the AMP font viewer. I don't install ALL my fonts. In AMP it gives you the option to install your font temporarily. So I find the font I want click to install temp. And then open SCAL and it's there.
