Why are you 'making them into scal files'? Dingbats can be used just like a font. Just 'type it in' into SCAL and away you go.scrappy_happy_moms wrote:Thanks Nicole... I will look those up... However with a few pieces when I trace them and there is a few specs of black I can't get off the image and the cricut wants to cuts those too... is there something like an eraser on inkscape? So I can get rid of the few specs I don't need?

Not sure but when I have issues like that I open the image in MS Paint and I can fill in spots or erase. Maybe you could try that??scrappy_happy_moms wrote:However with a few pieces when I trace them and there is a few specs of black I can't get off the image and the cricut wants to cuts those too... is there something like an eraser on inkscape? What is MS paint? Is that a software I'd have to buy is it something I can download??

This is nice. TFS. I have done that too! I used the images from online to make a corner flourish from a set of Plain Jane chipboard. I have the chipboard set but I didn't want to use it on that particular project but wanted to use the design cut with paper so I did what you described. It worked perfect!scrappy_happy_moms wrote:I actually have some chipboard pieces that I have scanned into my pc that I love using and I have use inkscape to trace them and then I take them over SCAL to cut... heres an example.

Are you on a PC? If so, it should be there already...part of your Windows. Right click the image, choose "open with" and then choose "Paint"scrappy_happy_moms wrote:ok... here we go with my silly questions! lol

If you have MAC I'm not sure if this works or not.
