changing a dingbat into a svg

Hi, I am new to all of this and this may be a dumb question, but I am wondering how to change a font or dingbat into a svg. file. If any one could help me, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

You know that you don't need to change fonts and dingbats into svg files to use in SCA - it uses any true type font.

These directions are for dingbats from font files only...this will not work if you have opened the dingbat in another program and exported it as graphics file.

Select the dingbat (will have a dashed box around it with arrows), go to Path>Object to path, then go to Path>Union...

Then save the dingbat as .svg file.
