smooth lnes on svg file

What is the best way to smooth out lines when you trace an image? During my attempts my Cricut is cutting a zillion little lines nstead of one smooth line. Any suggestions? Thank you so much!

it will help to look at it in outline view view>display mode>outline so you can see the line the will be cut.
Select your shape and then choose path>simplify as many times as necessary.
If you are getting double lines, you might try this technique to avoid them in traces:
