HI .. I'm new.. don't leave..
I was given an old Cricut.. you know the one.. the mats are 6X12 it believe that is the original... anyway.
i would like to know a few things.
1. will my old cricut work with the sure cuts a lot program?
2. how do i cut partial images? for example. if i have an image and i want to make it 4' x 5' thats obviously to large for my 6" x 12" mat

Unfortunately, SCAL is no longer available for purchase with the cricut. Do not buy any copy that you might see for sale someplace as they are not legal to sell and the will not work anyway.
To use SCAL, you would need to purchase another machine, such as the Cameo or eClips and there are others...that are compatible with SCAL.

Do you know of ANY program that will work? i really can't afford to buy a new machine, this is why someone gave me the old one. I have been cutting vinyl by hand.

The only software that works with the Cricut is their own and you still need their cartridges to do any designing.
