Multiple SVG files like Layers in PhotoShop

I wish that we could be able to see imports like layers. Being able to turn one or multiples off. Many of times I have the pieces separated by color. I save the whole project with everything needed for that project.



When I'm ready for white for example I delete everything but my white cut outs. When I'm ready for purple colors I have to re open the whole project and delete svg imports that aren't purple.I know I could save the projects individually as separate SCUT files but I would use a layer feature just like Photoshop does and clicking the "eye" to show or hide that particular layer.

I think this is something I'd also like to see. Somehow the option similar to Cricut's DS where you can have more than one 'mat' on your file so layering would be easier.

This would be ideal, but since we can layer in Inkscape, even having an "import at actual size" option would make layering sooo much easier...pretty please????
