.cut file into a .svg file???

How would I change a file that was created in the cricut design studio so that I am able to cut it in SCAL? I found a blog that gives out her files she makes but they are a .cut file and it won't open in SCAL. Any thoughts or ideas on how to do this?

cut files have been made from cartridge designs to my knowledge you cannot convert/open them in SCAL

You can save a picture of the mat and import the entire thing into inkscape. When you "Object to Path" and "Trace Bitmap" you can get rid of the mat lines. I have had success doing this.
