Help with Layers in SCAL 2.044

I am praying someone can help me. I have SCAL 2.044, and I am having a problem with layers. I have watched all of the tutorials, and I notice that in my layers window, I only have 2 icons.....1 being the trashcan and the 2nd one is add layer file. All of the screenshots I have seen in the tutorials show 3 icons. I am missing Add a Layer. Can someone please tell me how to fix this????? I have also seen where someone else is having the same issue, yet noone has answered her post. I spoke with her yesterday and told her that if I get an answer, I would let her know how to fix it.

Hi, takiking a wild guess since I cannot see the original file but have you tried select all and un group? Try it and see what happens to the layers and let us know.

Oh, was this an svg file you imported?

There are only two icons in the most recent versions of SCAL (2, 3, and eCAL) because each new shape or svg file is automatically added to a new layer so it's unnecessary to have an "add new layer" button. HTH
