Lots of freebies

Post by lindamac »

I just spent the last FOUR hours looking thru this web site: http://www.scrapmag.info/crafty/index.php
They have 1000's of free files, many of them in the svg format. There are also a lot of jpegs that you can copy and make files out of. DHoffman mentioned this in one of her posts here. I think she posted some of her files under the Holiday header.

OMG! This site is awesome. I think I've been here before but didn't find the bookmark. TFS! I think my memory stick is maxed out for the night! Maybe for good. I just searched for svg filenames and some I had to Open in Ink to see what they were but soooo cool. I have to get cutting this weekend!

Please help?? I cannot figure out how to download the files on the CRAFTY, le Craft Robo site. Could someone tell me how? All I can manage to do is save them as favorites on that site. I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

okay what I did was did a search for svg files that brings up all the pages with svg files on some are viewable , some not and being French doesnt help :-) All you have to do when you find one you want is right click on the graphics and save just the same as usual.

There's a lovely frog, griraffe, owls, lizard and various hearts, florishes etc. One I really liiked was 3 elephants standing on each other with a small bird on the top :D

I downloaded them a bit different than described above... I double clicked on the box and my "Open or Save" window pops up. At this point, if I could see the picture, I saved where I want them. If I could not see the picture but wanted to check it out, I hit OPEN. They open up in Inkscape as this is what reads svg's.
Word of note, I played with a few last night and they are not all real clean for cutting, if you know what I mean. Some I decided were not worth it. But A LOT are, and yes they are FREE (my husbands "favorite word")!!

If I click on the picture to download, it comes up in another box with a yellow triangle and reads "error on page" with a blank page...it does not open in inkscape. If I right click to save, I can only save as a .jpeg or .bmp. I cannot save it as an svg.

OMG...I did it!! I saved the ones I liked into "favorites" on that page and then clicked on one of the favorites. I double clicked on the picture and then when that pic came up, I right clicked and clicked on "save target as." That was my problem before...I only clicked on "save as" instead of "save target as!" yippee.....thank you so much for all your suggestions!!!!!!!!!
I love this forum!!
