Help-Trial Version wont let me cut?

I downloaded the trial version a few days ago & just realized, I'd better use it before it expires!
Last night I was able to cut a couple of fonts so today I tried to dig into some others. NO matter what font I try to use though, after it says "checking mat" it gives me an error message. "An error occurred while trying to cut"
Cricut is on, usb is connected, I updated firmware...everything is the same as it was last night so whats wrong?

I wish I knew more to be able to help you. Sometimes just restarting your computer will help.

Yes, try turning everything OFF. Unplug the computer from the wall. Unplug the Cricut from the wall AND from the computer. Count to 10, no kidding. Plug the Cricut back into the computer and into the wall. Plug the computer back into the wall and turn it and the Circut back on. Try the cut again.
