Petition about CDS SCAL block on Cricut MB!

Post by sixsensationalkids »

Just a heads up- There is a petition of sorts going on the Cricut MB regarding the block on SCAL with the new CDS update! ( by the way it WAS an intentional block! :x ) I don't know that it will do any good, but it's worth a try! So, go sign up and let our voices be heard!

My major concern in all of this is that it will show PC how many people are using SCAL and that they will go after Todd for "reverse engineering" the print driver and use the names as a basis for a multiplier to use in a lawsuit going for damages. Kind of like the RIAA lawsuits in $10K per how many songs thinking.

If they went after Todd, they could put a cease and desist against any further developments... we would be stuck where we are forever... I'd rather see him be able to add new features. If I were a Design Studio user (I'm not) I'd rather have to pay the price of having two Cricut machines, one for DS and one for SCAL if the firmware update/backdate became a hassle than to challenge PC to a game of Chicken with pinkslips... We have a lot to lose in this game, and not much to win.

HE WHO FIGHTS AND RUNS AWAY WILL LIVE TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY

Todd, could you please advise as to how you want the userbase to respond? I fear the damage it could cause may already be started...

I also do not trust PC...sorry to say. As I wrote on the CB, they are interested in PC. While they survey and create carts people want, that is because they will get profit from the carts.

I do not believe that they are interested in SCAL or its users except to the point of seeing where it will profit them...so to that, I agree with the previous post.
