Well this was my second attempt at my second word book. My first one was for a work mate of my husband's who became a grandfather and emailed us some photos so I made a very basic but lovely word book for him and his wife.
This one is for a friend from my old church who has become a mum and I wanted to pull out the stops and make this something I would be proud of. As i said first attempt didn't work - I didn't like the font I used but his one is great - well I think so.
I need to thank Annointed Hands for her butterfly I have used - I have cut them out and glued two together at the body to make them 3 dimensional - and at 1 inch in size they cut out perfectly and I really love them. The other thanks is to Teriberi on the Cricut board for her amazing word book which gave me great inspiration and ideas http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.aspx?m=2644919.
Anyway here it is (I hope). I have just finished it - took me a week and my craft room is a mess with bits everywhere but I had to take pics of it now and post them to all her who are just wonderful at sharing ideas and tips and everything.

You made a lovely book. You should certainly be proud of it! Very, very nice! Thanks for showing the inside, too.

Re: Word Book finished
Thank you all.
One thing I have learnt from this is that I don't need to stick to just one thing to make something like this. I had originally thought of using SCAL and Inkscape solely but I just started to run out of ideas and then I was about to go to DS and use some cartridges when I opened up my box of embellishements and found some really great things that made it all come together.
So that is what I have learnt - to use everything when making something - the cricut is an amazing tool but it is just one tool and it should be used in combination with other things.

So very true! It is easy to get captured into thinking one thing is the ONLY way to go. You're right, Cricut and SCAL are TOOLS to help you make the final project.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your book. I have one cut out but am still searching for the right idea to embellish it. I may never get back to it. I just love to try the cutting.
I think all of us when we first get the Cricut HAVE to cut everything! We forget that we have stickers, stamps, punches, Sizzix and geegaws that can be used just like before. It is a strange world and welcome to it.

Re: Word Book finished
Awesome word book! Eden is a pretty name too!
I have a couple of questions for you...
What font did you end up using? It looks familiar. It DOES work well for a word book!
How did you do the binding? Did you take it to a shop to have it done or do you have a binding machine of your own?
KUDOS to you!

Re: Word Book finished
Thank you all.
Marly I used Brush Script MT for this but I used it on Shadow for both the letters and the outline. The letters were shadowed at 3 and the outline on the card itself is outlined at 9. I really liked it as it was quite femaine and cut really well.
Regarding the binding, yes I took it to a stationery shop locally (office products type place) that does laminating, binding, copying etc. this is the wire binding not the plastic binding and I am really thrilled with the result of that too.
