Cutters Creek

Post by TLC114 »

Has anyone had problems with Cutters Creek? I ordered SCAL on July 15 and still have not recieved it. I know that I have read on the message board that they can be a little slow...but seriously! After 3 weeks, I used the contact us to request an update on my order. All 3 requests that week went unanswer. My email to customer service has also gone unanswered. All I want is an acknowledgement and an estimated shipping date. I cannot get them to respond. Am I being unreasonable? At this time, I have to say that I could not recommend that store to anyone...even someone I don't like! Sorry to vent to you all like this but I do think this is something to take into consideration if any of you are thinking of ordering from Cutter's Creek. I am also hoping that someone from the company sees this message and takes steps to improve customer service. In their business, word of mouth is everything if you know what I mean.

I ordered SCAL from them as well, it appeared to be 'in-stock' - this was late May / early June - by early July I still hadn't received the product. After many emails I finally got a response when I requested a refund - after all, it had been almost 6 weeks! I can say, the refund was prompt, posted within 2 days.

I've read where others have had no problems; but that wasn't my experience. Also, when they did finally respond, they stated they take pride in customer service and provide fast communication with their customers. (?!)

It took 4 weeks for my SCAL to come from Cutters Creek and they were showing it in stock as well. It finally arrived and was perfect.

I am waiting for some things I bought from Cutters Creek too. I did find out from reading the Cricut MB that the business was sold and is in the process of moving to Maryland. You can read about the sale on their blog:
www.cutterscreek.com/blog/ I hope they get their act together because I liked their prices (which have also gone up).

When I first found out about Cutter's Creek - if you had a log on name and then logged in you got a discount on your items.... now they have changed that so that it doesn't matter if you are logged on or not the prices are all the same. I never really understood that.

I hope they hurry and get it together too because after my experience of waiting 4 weeks for my SCAL and it was supposed to be in stock at the time - I am not so sure that I will order from them again, even though the product was perfect when I received it.

Send an email to the new owner at kimberlyjbush@gmail.com. I think the new owner has been working very hard at getting things in order so that she can best serve the customers. Part of the delay is that items that were in California were shipped to Maryland. Kim B. is receiving those items this week.

Typically, it takes 7-10 days for an item to be processed and shipped to you. The transfer of ownership added about a week to this process. Typically, items are not in stock but are ordered from the manufacturer when you place your order.

The shipment comes in and is verified and received which means opening all boxes and accounting for all items and verifying nothing is damaged or missing (yesterday there was 1 damaged cartridge and 1 missing box from the shipment which required a call to Provo Craft, a claim being filed and tracking done on the missing box.)

After that is done, packing slips are printed and orders pulled, bubble wrapped and packaged, in preparation for labels.

The next process is trying to keep those in numerical order to get staged so nothing gets shipped out of order sequence and then labels and postage are generated from PayPal.

Labels and postage are generated from PayPal automatically if customers have used a PayPal account however if paid without a PayPal account, addresses have to be manually entered with the customer information.

Postage has to be affixed and packages sealed and staged for delivery to the post office - those are done in batches. They are delivered to the post office in big containers, some days filling an entire truck bed with packages to be delivered and some days requiring 2 and 3 trips to the post office.

Picture this - 19 postal containers, each one overflowing with packages, is what is being processed daily.

Where your focus, understandably, is one order, the overall process is several orders in batches. This is a massive project and by no means is anyone complaining, just want to help understand the process. (And this all done by one person.)
