How to make a box in SCAL2 Video

I have put my video together on How to make a box in SCAL2 using basic shapes and the snap function. Here it is http://screenr.com/Pee

I decided to put it together after a comment lillygirl7 made in one of my post saying "I have some boxes on my blog, but they are not in SVG format I would love to convert them,but have no idea how?". At the end of the day most boxes can be broken down to basic shapes and SCAL2 has a great selection to choose from.
Also setting the snap value to the smallest measurement in your design you will get your shapes the correct size and they will always align with each other.
I didn't show it in the video but you can change you snap setting as you are making your design.

I didn't explain in the video why I used the Union Function. The reason for this is to get a single outline of the box pattern so SCAL2 will only cut the outline.

Once you have made your design you can save it as a SCAL file by choosing File -> Project or an SVG by choosing File -> Export.

Five minutes goes quick. Sorry if I rushed a bit near the end. I could have made 2 videos but wanted to see if I could get it in one
Screenr is so easy to use and highly recommend it. It would be great to see more videos done, this will help our group grow.

Love your accent Craigg :), and your video was PERFECT!!! I am not a newbie, but still learned so much!!!! I never ever used 'snap' before...omg...that will save so much time! I have never used the alignment button...omg...that will save so much time!!!
I can not believe how much time I have taken to line things up my looking at the X & Y to get it right in both directions...and all along I could have used 'snap' and 'alignment center'. Thank you sooo much for your video...and you did it PERFECT in 5 minutes.

We need more of these where only SCAL is used. Most of the other SCAL video's assume Inkscape and now there is so much more you can do with just SCAL2 more videos like this will be much appreciated!

Glad you both liked it.

I think we have relied on Inkscape because of the early days of SCAL.
It would be good to see more SCAL2 only tutorials.
I challenge everyone to use Screenr to start making some tuutorials. It is really easy and there is no software to load onto your computer.

Yep, a challenge is a great idea. If every would have "in SCAL" that would help separate them from the ones that rely on Inkscape or a an Inkscape image. Don't get me wrong I love Inkscape but it is hard to learn and SCAL will do almost all of the things newbies need to learn.
