Need some help please!!

Here's what I'm trying to do.... I'm trying to make a Mickey Mouse head using two cherries (and stems) for the ears and a circle for his head. I have a cherry dingbat that I like but (here's the problem) using SCAL, I clicl on the cherries and get the size I want, switch to shapes & get the circle the correct size, hit weld and the cherries don't weld with the circle. I'm so frustrated with inkscape that I'm about to uninstall it completely. Can anyone PLEASE help a desperate woman that's at her wits end? I picked a really bad time to quit smoking! LOL!

I have had that happen to me several times. I don't know why it happens. I'm sure someone will come along and tell ya!
Til then... heres a site that has mickey fonts and dingbats. There is a set of dingbats that has the mickey mouse head. I hope this helps.

Make sure you have Weld checked for both the cherries and the shape. I only use SCAL to cut but when I tried to weld a dingbat to a shape, I didn't have a problem.
