I would like the ability to switch from the main tools with keys on the keyboard, and also to be able to zoom in with the command + or the crtl + keys. this would be very handy for getting close up on critical lines.
Thank you!

Kodi,
I second this! In the meantime maybe we can script our own since I see you are on a Mac, too.

Re: Keyboard Shortcuts!
OK, I was able to add the zoom in and out with no coding, but since there is no menu command for the tools I'm gonna have to try scripting.
Here's how to add the zoom.
Go to system preferences and choose keyboard or keyboard & mouse, depending on your OS X version
click on the keyboard shortcuts tab
click the plus sign button at bottom left and navigate to surecutsalot (use other if you don't see it on the first list)
type in Zoom In (it has to match the menu item exactly) and the key command you want and click add
repeat for other menu items you want shortcuts for
I had added some for Inkscape but forgot all about this so thanks for the reminder, Kodi. I am not sure SCAL is scriptable, but if I find a way to add the tool switching I will be sure and share the scripts.

Re: Keyboard Shortcuts!
I wish there was a way to have a ctrl + or ctrl - for zooming in/out on the PC front.
