Nervous about purchasing SCAL....

Post by jenn.andrews80 »

I am seriously considering purchasing SCAL, but crashing my Cricut is the one thing I am most nervous about!! I've heard some horror stories about updating the DS or Gypsy firmware and it detecting SCAL and rendering your Cricut useless!! I still want to be able to use my DS and Gypsy as well since I have several cartridges. But I want to be able to cut my hubby's company logo as well. What to do, what to do! Can anyone help??

Thanks

Here are some more recent posts to help you make your decision. The other that you have brought forward is a thread that dates back quite sometime and I believe was initially bumped up for reset directions. Hope this helps you to decide.

Probably more thank likely someone from Provocraft that wrote those horror stories to deter people from buying SCAL

Yes, the 'scrare' posts I've read have been discredited. Great idea to list posts for reference as above. Thanks!

You should def buy SCAL. You won't regret it. You think you'll still need your carts, but pretty soon you'll forget you even have them. All you need is SCAL...and us!

Of course we may all be a bit biased on this forum

Have to admit, that like you, I was very nervous at first about buying SCAL. I had terrific help from some of the wonderful people here to overcome some initial hiccups with my pc and the cricut not communicating but I have not for one single moment regretted purchasing SCAL. The possibilities are endless and there are the most amazing skills on this forum with gorgeous files just begging to be downloaded and used! I still use my cartridges occasionally but agree with others that as you gain more experience with SCAL you will not need them and mine are slowly moving further back on the shelf!

I just purchased SCAL about 2 weeks ago, maybe a bit less. I was very nervous about purchasing it. I was worried that it would mess up my cricut, I would not understand how to use it and just get frustrated with it and waste $$ on it. Boy was I ever wrong.

I absolutely LOVE it! I got my cricut after I had purchased SCAL. I had no idea how to work ANY of it. I am so glad that I purchased SCAL. it is pretty easy to learn and I know that anytime I have a question I can always come here.

I purchased SCAL and this was the best thing I could have ever done. It is amazing. Did u ever think that they might have put the horror stories on here because they don't want you to buy this program, then that way you will have to buy more cartridges,,high$$$. I love this and not one day goes by that I am sorry I brought this program...
