If you mean to view the item as a solid color just go to View and Uncheck outlines only option..

Ah, I hadn't found the "deselect outlines" button yet. That is SO AWESOME! I am grouping pieces by color and wanted to see them "in color' the next time I pulled up the file. Very cool. Thanks so much!
