Break apart

Post by Beth »

I'd like to see a feature where you can bring in the whole project. Then break apart and delete what you don't want to cut at that time, so that it all on the screen and size accordingly. If this is there...sorry I'm new at it. I have trouble with importing each file and they are sized proportantly. Any suggestions incase I don't get my wish or it takes a while?

TIA

You need to download the free software called Inkscape. And then start reading all the wonderful tutorials on here and other sites too!

Thanks for the suggestion....but I have AI. I can do that in AI, but when I import a project in it comes in different sizes. I'll work around that if I have....I have an idea and I know it will work...it was just a wish.

Have a great day!

Someone asked for layers in the past. I'm thinking the idea of layers would apply to having a project. After separating an SVG file in Inkscape and arranging the pieces, I import it into SCAL. I am limited as to how big I can have the design in SCAL because it is one object when it imports. Also I've had .SVG files with more pieces than will fit on the mat in SCAL without any resizing. So if the file could be brought over in layers so that each layer could be cut independently but all in proportion, I could make a larger finished product and I could cut designs having more pieces.

I also like the idea of being able to pick and choose which pieces to cut. This would help especially if you want to re-cut just one piece.

I hope this makes sense!
