what is everyone using to protect the vinyl on trivets that are used for hot skillets/pots? i've done a search but cant find what i'm looking for!

One of the methods to taking vinyl off some walls is using a heat gun. I think the secret is finding vinyl that doesn't melt/shrink.

Wonder if iron-on vinyl like tee shirt vinyl would work?

i've seen people put vinyl on tile peices and it looks like it's shalacted (sp) or poly urethaned in some way...

i use polyeurethane on my tile trivets but they are intended to be decorative only. I dont actually recommend that they use heat on them.

There's not anything that you can put on vinyl to protect it from melting under that kind of direct heat. Why not get one of those acrylic trivets and put vinyl on the underside?
