SCAL stopped working- Please help

I am in the middle of a cut and and the 'cutting with Cricut' box has frozen and says checking mat. The problem is, I need to get this order out and this is the last piece of this particular vinyl that I have. Obvioulsy I need to restart but my question is how can I get it to either continue exactly where it left off or start exactly in the same starting position so I don't lose this piece of vinyl.

I can't think of a way that you could resuse that vinyl is you reset your machine. Sorry! Maybe a more seasoned user might help you, though.

I think your best option is to open a new copy of SCAL and when it prompts you to continue your session, say yes. Then without unloading your mat, try cutting again. It will cut over the lines you already cut, but if it cuts through the backing, just leave everything on your cutting mat and weed the vinyl and apply your transfer tape with it still on the cutting mat.

Thanks Heather, I actually did not get the message to 'restore', so I lost it. So I guess I'm off to buy more vinyl.
