Demo download and updates

Is there a demo that you can download before you buy? And I noticed on the home page that updates were $35 - that doesn't mean each update does it? But what exactly does it mean?

Yes you can try SCAL2 out before you buy it but when you cut with an unpurchased version it creates cutlines through your image.. You only pay for an Upgrade if you have SCAL1 and change to SCAL2... Updates are free..
