Hi everyone,
What a great forum I have spent ages looking in here. This is my first post and just to let you know I am still waiting for my new Cricut Expression machine to arrive. I have my library of SVG's already and waiting to start playing.
My question is this: I have this lacey pattern that I managed to turn into a svg file but it needs to have a solid border around it so as the little pieces don't all fall away from the edges. Can someone please tell me how to add a border. I played around in SCAL2 trial version and put a rectangle over it and then hit union but when I looked at the preview all it shows up as a full rectangle and no lace design. I will post the lace so you can see what I mean.
Hopefully one of you can help me with this. Thanks so much in advance.

If this is what you need...all I did was open your file, drew a rectangle around your lace, select all, group

if you want it to look "cut out" on the screen, then you would select the rectangle and the lace and do Path - Exclude. But MickyZs above is correct - just simply drawing a rectangle around will cut out correctly on the Cricut

Thank you both sooo much. I am still in the learning stages and one day maybe I will get the hang of it. Now I just need to get my machine delivered so I can start. I can't wait!
Thank you again
