Re: Sand Blaster
I'm trying to figure out what kind of air compressor to get for my sandblaster to use it on glass and what kind of tip they use
and the vinyl
and the vinyl
Re: Sand Blaster
I have been doing it for a few years now. but I have never done it using any thing from the cricut. I always cover my glass usually mirror with contact printed what I wanted and spray glued the paper to my contact cut it out with a exacto knife and blasted it. I have a cabinet for the small stuff and an old made over 50 gallon drum with a old storm window to see through for the large objects. I'm not sure how much pressure I used I will have to ask if he remembers what we set it at, but I will and let you know. But it is so beautiful when you are done nothing like the etching cream.

Re: Sand Blaster
I do sanblasting and I use my cricut to cut my vinyl and it works very well, I use 3 mil painters mask. As far as the compressor I would need to know what kind of sandblasting system you have, is it a pressure pot or a syphon system. When looking at compressors it's not the horsepower your looking at it's the cfm (cubic feet per minute). I belong to a great sand carving forum and if you interested in sandblasting they are a great group and very helpful.

Re: Sand Blaster
Mine is the same as yours SeeJay and we use a steady 26 pounds of pressure to do it. I have not done any in a while because we were out trucking, But I am getting back into it now. I just love the way it looks on mirror almost like diamond dust.

Re: Sand Blaster
If you sandblast the mirror in the front you get a mirror image of the text your doing
but if you sandblast the back of the mirror you don't get that mirror image
and i put a frame around it and put a little neon light in the back of it so it glows thru
they turn out awesome.. but i always out sourced my sandblasting so i'm trying to get my
compressor working now i have a 4HP 44Galon Colman I'm trying to get working

that's the part that is busted on mine
so now i'm just making mirror's waiting to use my sand blaster
So do you have a regulator on your line? and you keep it at %15 sand %85 air is what i herd is a good mixture
