Carrot Box file - Gel Pen giveaways

Hi, I just updated my blog with a SCAL2 file for a cute box in the shape of a carrot - it will be there for one week so grab it while you can!

Can you help me out? I downloaded the scut file for the carrot box, but when I open it in scal, I only get the file for the score lines. It is so cute and I would love to make some for Easter. Thanks.

I'm gonna assume the file is in multiple layers. Check to see that all the "eyes" in the layers palette are open. Some layers will be for "cut" and some for "gel pen" draw and they need to be kept separate so you know what to cut and what to draw.
Just a guess, but I've seen the file before.

papasue - Thanks so much for responding. For as long as I have had scal, I HAVE NOT taken the time to learn the program. I usually just make stuff in Ink, import and cut.

Anyway, here's what my screen looks like. How do I get to the layers and where do I see the "eyes." I feel like a complete idiot. I can usually figure stuff out myself. Thanks for any help.

hey no problem, I was pretty much the same way until I got the new version 2.011 for Mac.

On the top menu bar, up where FILE and EDIT are see the one that says WINDOW? The first item in the drop down list is Layers. Click on that and a mini palette will open just like the shapes or text ones. You should see a list of at least two layers with little "eyes" on the left. click on an eye to open and you should see more of the image. The score line layer is the one you want to use with the pens.

Go to my blog and do my tutorial on the gel pens, the carrot should be much the same, except the layers on the carrot are already created.

Then go to Shelly's blog (the designer) and read about what she says about the lines, and pens and stuff. Hurry as she only leaves posts up for week.

Thanks again Susan. I think I am going to give up. I tried it what you told me to do and I didn't get any pallette. I tend to get a bit obsessive, but I really need to move on. I GOTTA get some stuff done today. Thanks so much for your time.

Is there anyway to get this file in svg format. I would love to make these for my graddaughter's day care class. I am having surgery today and will have the time to work on these this weekend. Please.....
