putting logo in inkscape and then what??/
Can I load a logo into inkscape while in a jpeg format? i want to do a logo for a tractor company to pick on my son. I plan to do it out of paper but make it look like a decal in his truck window. It's two colors. Can anyone tell me how to get it into inkscape and get it ready for scut2. It keeps telling me nothing on path or something like that. I'm so confused.

Have you looked for the logo in vector form? If you can't find it in vector, you can open, import, or paste the image into Inkscape. Once it is there you need to trace it. Since it is only two colors you might be best using a color trace. Kay has a list of tutorials by image type on her blog to help you pick the best method for your image. http://cleversomeday.wordpress.com/images-to-svg/

Ok. My logo is a pdf, saved it to documents. Opened it in Inkscape. It's two colors. I want to change it to a svg to cut for my son as a joke. Can anyone give my very very easy step by step directions on how to do this. I can't keep asking people to convert for me. I need abook for dummies on this topic I'm afraid. Thank you all so much

If it's a vector PDF, try opening it in Inkscape, ungrouping if necessary so that you can move the colors to where you need them for cutting, then just saving as an svg.

I have opened it so many times in Inkscape I am now tired of Inscape and the logo. I do the ungroup, but will not let me move colors away from each other. I have tried the trace to bitmap, no go. UGH> Any one out there to help me. I am going crazy trying to do this

Sorry about that, just noticed you didn't mention what format the logo was in. It makes a difference in how to take apart
