It does the same thing with me. It totally crashes. I wonder if it is a compatibility issue? I am on a mac.

Try Open project instead of import svg. It worked for me, but I am not on mac version.

Okay, that is really weird. I deleted the original file from my computer. I emptied my trash bin, and then downloaded it from the forum just like you guys have. I opened up SCAL and choose file, open project. It opened up just fine. Now, there are two pages in the file. I forgot to delete the second page, so when it opens, you will see a blank page. You need to make sure you are looking at page one, and not page 2.

I guess the only thing I can think of is do you have the latest version of SCAL 2 installed? It should be version 2.010. That is what I have. Check that and make sure you have it. If you have an earlier version, that might be what is causing the problem. I don't know for sure, but I can't figure out why it doesn't work for you otherwise. Those with MAC, I have no idea about that one, as I am using a PC. But if you have SCAL2, vs 2.010 and choose Open Project, it should work.

If you have the same version as me installed, and it still doesnt work for you, I'm sorry. I tried to help. I have no idea what is going on then.

This scut file opens up on page 2. If you select page 1, you will notice the file. I just changed the matt size to 12x12, deleted page 2, and resaved the file and it works just fine. So just look when you open it, you will notice on the top that page 2 is open. Just click on page 1 and you will see it. HTH.

Cute! TFS!
