Now that we don't have to use inkskape (not so user friendly)
I am starting to understand how the new updates are working.
I made this little ladybug using just the basic shapes. The antennas are seahorse tails

Yeah, in inkscape I was intimidated... But now that I can do similar stuff in SCAL it's great! The path features are my favorite, and the arrange too...
With a little imagination, the possibilities are ENDLESS!! I just love it!

Shelley I am trying to figure out how to do the wings I have the circle up but can't get it to break apart. Also i have put the whole seahorse under the circle I need to break that apart too or it will cut the bodies out won't it. I hope to have time to play soon.
you put a circle up, then put a rectangle over the top of it, then select both shapes, then:
Path--> back minus front... and that chops your circle in half...
Then copy/paste your half, and flip one of them, arrange the wings how you want them, then path --> union...
But before you cut the first circle in half, copy/paste that circle and just move the copy out of the way... that will be your body later.
And for the sehorse tails, same process... stretch it to how you want it, then chop off the body just leaving the swirly tail... copy/paste then flip then union...
Then you put a head on the body and then put the antennas on (seahorse tails) and union all that... there's your body...
Get it?
Just play around, you'll get it...

This playing around thing is fun!
I would probably never cut this, but it was fun to try and make...
I only used basic shapes to make the little piggy... Kinda fun!
