Assign object to layer

It would be nice if the Properties window showed the name of the layer the object was in or if it was part of a group (as well as the size, XY position, etc.). The layer identification could be a drop down menu, so it would be easy to "move" the object to another layer (without doing a copy/paste, like you have to do now).
