No problem. I'm pretty new at this. So I have been watching and reading a lot of tutorials. HeatherM site has great ones and Scrappydoo is good also. All I did was put it on the node function(the one under the arrow) and in the left upper corner there is a plus and a minus sign and you click the nodes (the squares you see on the object) then click the minus. You keep doing this until all the nodes you want are gone.

Hi, I saw your wonderful bed and then read about the problem with erasing the line. I used to use the node tool but then I discovered the eraser in Inkscape 0.47
Yesterday I posted a video tutorial on how to use the eraser in Inkscape 0.47. This may be easier than deleting nodes if you are using Inkscape .47
