Re: import svg errors in SCAL
Most of us are using Inkscape 0.47 since 0.48 has some bugs. If you want to use 0.47 you can get it here. http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/files/

Re: import svg errors in SCAL
Is this problem still happening to anyone else? Trying to import inkscape file to scal. Saving as plain SVG. I downgraded from .48 to .47. When I try to open all I can see is a little X in the corner. And the X,Y positions are at 10416.656. The W,H is at -10416.656. What am I doing wrong?

What version of SCAL are you using? The early versions of SCAL2 did that with Ink47. You can use Path/Union in Inkscape and that will sometimes fix it, but it would be better to either upgrade your SCAL to the current version or downgrade your Inkscape to 0.46. The current version of SCAL is 2.038c. HTH

Okay, I'll try going down to .46. I have the latest SCAL version.
Re: import svg errors in SCAL
When I had that problem in Ink, I just made sure I was set to work in inches and then that the x & y coordinates were 1.000 for each in inkscape, and then I would set my size width and height as I wanted it. It would seem to drop to the bottom of the inkscape page but came up perfect in SCAL.
PS: What did you think of the .48 version of Inkscape?

Just had a thought. Are you using the Path effects editor? I think that can still cause problems. Try copying/pasting into a fresh Inkscape document. HTH
