So disappointed with the wait... (firmware issues)
Re: So disappointed with the wait... (firmware issues)
Beanie, thanks for the link. I hope PC takes to heart the requests of their users and lifts the block. Not holding my breath for it though. Hopefully Todd will be able to break it soon.

I had just read on the cricut site the link that was posted (http://www.cricut.com/messageboard/tm.a ... 01&mpage=1)....
I too am hoping that Todd will find a way around this issue but maybe Provo craft will listen to us as well and remove the block - doubtful but we can dream.)
I realize that these things take time to resolve... if the issue can be resolved on Todd's end. If not we may have to chose which program to use.

Re: So disappointed with the wait... (firmware issues)
I don't think we have to choose. We just have to copy over the firmware for the program we want to use. A small inconvenience, but we don't have to choose one program or the other. Buying a separate machine in my opinion seems a bit extreme to me. I think the install is just a click or two. If I ever want to use DS again (doubt I will), I'd much rather make a few clicks than spend $300 bucks and have the inconvenience of unplugging and plugging in my cricuts, not to mention the storage space it would take up in my small room.If not we may have to chose which program to use.

I am pretty computer illiterate - I don't want to have to keep installing and uninstalling the filmware.
And I really don't want to have to go purchase another machine either.
(So I wait.)

I can understand. Maybe we can come up with a quick reference sheet that has 1,2,3 steps it wouldn't be so painful. I don't remember how I did it the first time - I think the firmware installed itself when I installed the original DS CD.
