Re: Tracing images - questions
Photoshop CS5 still doesn't have the ability to save as svg (and I'm guessing that Photoshop never will), but it works very well to use the selection tools and then fill the selection with black. Hide anything that you don't want to trace, save it as jpg or bmp, then trace in SCAL or Inkscape. This was one method that I used to use with SCAL1 and Inkscape. I'm no expert at Photoshop though, so maybe someone else knows how to export vectors from PS.

Is the eraser tool you're speaking of in SCAL? I am also having trouble with cleaning up coloring book pages. I have posted things in the forum and people have cleaned them up for me (awesomeness!) but its time I learned how they're doing itSweetness4713 wrote:you can also use the eraser tool to erase extra lines.. Re: Tracing images - questions
For double lines, I just ungroup them in SCAL, and break apart, then select and delete any doubles. Coloring book pages often present the "double outline" problem. Sometimes you have to move a main image out of the way to be able to get to them.
As an alternative, you can move the outline to a different layer and "lock" that layer so that you don't keep deleting it when trying to figure out what the doubles are.
