Black Cat Cougar Thing?!

Post by Kelleysbiz »

So ok now Im interested in this Black Cat seeing as Cricut has lost their minds! lol! Which one of the Black Cat models is the closest to the Cricut Expression as far as 24" being as big as Cricut cuts...Sorry may be a stupid question but I literally havent research the Black Cat enough to figure it out they have so many models of them..thanks for your input in advance :)

Just went to the website of black cat..I dunno WHAT I was thinking when I asked about the 24" its really the width I should be worried about right? Looks like CE has 12" width x 24" long & black cat is 13-24" wide but how long can it cut? I think Im making this harder than it is prolly but just want to be sure I can do everything that I do with the cricut with the black cat if I decide to get it...am I making ANY sense? thanks AGAIN!

The Cougar and Lynx cut 24 inches long depending on the software you are using. I use Inkscape with Signcut. With Signcut Pro you can cut unlimited length. Of course you would have to source larger mats. Vinyl doesn't need a mat. Not sure what length Scal cuts. If you want to ask any questions join the BlackCat Forum as a guest member and ask away. We have a very helpful bunch of members. and as one says the only silly question is the one you don't ask.

I would just like to thank you Scud for the effort you alone put into actually answering my question...seems so weird that people around this place dont help unless you are on this board all day every day & youre in the "in" crowd! Sad really! (its actually been that way ever since Ive been here, except for Todd, which last I read they ran him off too..dunno if hes back on this board or not yet or anything but he was a huge help to me each time I asked anything) Anyways off my soapbox now :) Thank you very much in answering!

I'm glad you received you response but so sorry you feel everyone isn't answered equally if they are not a regular. I honestly haven't found that to be the case. Personally, I still have so much to learn and the more experienced have been very helpful in answering questions with great detail. I hope you give the board another try. There have been more new members offering their own designs and maybe you would be willing to add to the interest of the board in that way also or contribute with tips and tricks you have learned along the way. Hope to see you here again.

Thank you for being so welcoming. I appreciate it. Ive been on the boards off & on for a while now, I just have found it to be hard to get people to converse with me about the questions I ask. I too have ALOT to learn not only on the black cat but the CE also. Weird how you get almost 200 views to a question & 1 or 2 responses. Not just this question have I had this experience but others & have voiced my opinion about it then too. Just sad.

My guess is there are probably more like me that are still learning a lot, than those that can just jump in and troubleshoot so quickly. That is probably why you see so many views???? For those that are willing and able to jump in and help, I know the rest of us really appreciate it.
