I made a video!
(no longer online)
However, in a written explanation...1st the best way is to be in the habit of saving the picture that is offered with the file.
Just right click on the picture and copy paste to a folder or use 'save as' and save to a folder.
Otherwise, like me, I had many .svg's without the picture and so I opened scal and then clicked the 'open' for viewing my file names, and without actually putting each file on the vitual mat...when it showed in the preview box I used the snipping tool right there to take a picture of the file in the preview window and saved to a folder. This way I could pretty quickly just move on to the next file and view that in the preview window, snip, save and move to the one after that. It took some time, but if you are like me and don't like to download a bunch of programs to your computer this will work.

I just watched your tutorial, gj1. What a great idea! I love my snipping tool and use it all the time, but never did it cross my mind to use it for this purpose. What a great idea.....I like that you can see the picture of the file in the folder. Thanks so much for showing us this method!
i will be doing this from now on.

Re: HowToSaveSVGPics for easy viewing or printing
I did all of my .svg with the snip tool. It took me a while today...but was a good project and now I just have to remember to do any new ones I make or get. I can not understand about all of the plug-in things they talk about with the other programs, so this seemed like my only option...now I can quit thinking about this...yay.
And printing would be easy...either group the files by type and do a screen shot or bigger snip...or print in Windows... 9 file pics wallet size....I know that works pretty good, as I do that with the camera shots I take of my cards.
Hope you all have a "Happy Easter" !

If you don't have the snipping tool then you could use Paint which is in every computer paired with your Print Screen function key and then crop in Paint...would not be as quick at all and I would not bother with it.
This poster below says there is a way in Vista to do it easy though.

What I am doing from here forward is to take the picture the artist or share person offers immediately...up until now I have not been doing that, and when I go back to look at all the file names after so much time has past I can not remember what they were like.
Having a picture with the file is so nice.
