Help how do I weld shapes together.

Help me please. I have lost all my grey matter. I am trying to weld two circles together to make a circle card. How do I do this. I know it's simple but I can't figure it how. UGH

Place the circles slightly overlapping and then use path/union. after selecting both circles..

Or you can place two circles next to eachother, slightly overlapping and make sure you have the weld box checked on both circles.
