I already have the best programs, and now I will have the best cutter
Re: PC FREE forever FINALLY!!
Wow, that's a lot of money. For me to spend $700 for a machine, it would have to clean my house and cook too!

I'll put it on my retirement wish list (a few years out). If I spent that on a cutter, my husband would be doing "skin the cat".

It makes me wonder what is so great about this cutter? What makes it worth spending $700?

It is much sturdier and more powerful than the Cricuts. Here is a comparison chart. http://thatsscrapinc.com/ComparisonChar ... ackCat.htm
Here is a blog post about using a Cougar to deboss leather. http://everdaylittlethings.blogspot.com ... ougar.html At one point I saw a gallery with many different examples but I can't find it now. The Cougar is my dream machine too, though I don't see it happening any time soon.

Thanks for the link HeatherM. I checked it out and it does seem like an awesome machine. So it will work with SCAL? Does anybody know what other machines, if any, will work with SCAL? Just thinking ahead and don't want to give any more money to PC.

Congratulations on your purty tat!
! The Cougar is my next cutter when I get a dedicated space for her since that will be my "industrial" type cutter. DH & I will be using that one for our heavy work.
Some of you where asking about the differences. I know it's pricey. The biggest different is pressure. The Cougar is 950 grams per pressure. Cricut runs around 350-400 grams per pressure. The Cougar can take pretty much all mediums you throw at it. It can engrave on metal.

I'm confused. Why would I want to spend $700 for something that my Vista laptop, SCAL and my Cricut already does for me?
Is there something special about this cutting machine other than a computer is built in? And I noticed it doesn't play well with Windows 7 64 bit computers. If you look at the specs, it doesn't support Win 7 64 bit machines.
MTC was SUed by PC and SCAL is being sued now! MTC can not offer compatibility with the Cricut any more! SCAl is sure to have to stop also! Thats why people are getting FREE OF PC and buying new cutters- so they can still use SCAL and MTC..
