Create banner?

Hello: I am trying to find a way to create a banner like you'd see flying behind an airplane. I want to create a tote for my nephew with an airplane and a banner flying behind it with his name. I can do the name, the plane but cannot figure out the banner. I have attached a photo with an example of what I am trying to achieve. Thanks as always for the great ideas and wonderous talents here.

You're very welcome. A lot of times it helps to redraw the design using the pen tool in Inkscape and playing around with the nodes. Maybe you can do it in SCAL now, but I don't play around too much with it. Maybe I should. There's so much to learn!
