HELP!! can someone get me started again?!?

my laptop died which had the SCAL2 program on it ..im trying to put it on another computer. I dont remember the steps to get it done.. i have the program disc downloaded..it tells me im missing a USB driver then tells me the cricut isnt connected to the computer.. i have a cart in the computer..its hooked with the USB cord..gosh can anyone help?!?!

Ive downloaded that also sorry forgot to add that..do i have to have design studio trial or something also? can you walk me through what to do as if i just purchased the SCAL program..i cant find what i did when it first arrives.. to get started..i need to start from get go..APPRECIATE the help!!

I just got a new puter and went through it...downloaded the current program from the website though, and then entered my serial number or the number that came with the disc, and mine activated immediately. I did have the problem with the E not be recognized and downloaded the driver and I was good to go. Had my downloaded version not accepted activation, I was prepared to send CE a note with info by email to support for a new activation code. PS: I do have DS, so perhaps it is true that you need to download the trial of that also.

Ok..still not working im getting the command cricut isnt found by computer..i just wanna toss it all!
