firmware

Post by tcook »

I just purchased a gypsy and synced as required. I know have firmware version 2.34 on my cricut. I thought this would be compatible with SCAL since the required firmware for the expression is 2.3X. when I try to cut it, i get the dialog box "cutting with cricut but it just sits there. No error message just not cutting and nothing to select. Has anyone had this issue. Can anyone please help. I will sell the gypsy before I give up on scal :(

thank you,
Tam

I don't believe the SCAL program works with the gypsy... the latest one added is the cricut cake machine..

Im not sure what you mean by the latest one added is for the cricut cake? Are you speaking of the latest firmware? I read a few posts that state they have got the gypsy and scal and have no problem and then others that say you cant. Im really frustrated that I cant use SCAL anymore unless I sell the brand new gypsy or buy another cricut that has the 2.1 firmware installed.

If anyone can please confirm.....thank you soo much.

Try downloading the most recent version of SCAL2. Some people have reported that 2.038c fixed their freezing problem. HTH

I had the same question. I just got the gypsy, too, and can't cut until I update the firmware on the cricut. I don't want to lose my SCAL cutting capability.

Ms.Grandma, can you tell me what version of cricut firmware you have?

When you first connected your gypsy, did it tell you to update the cricut firmware? Can you explain what you did?

I appreciate your help. Evelyn

I use the lastest SCAL2.038 with an E, firmware 2.34 and have very excellent success with everything working.

I do not have a G, and I do not believe that the G can interact in anyway directly with SCAL. I do not know what firmware version is required for the G.

I use SCAL with my Cricut Expression AND I have some cartridges, too, so I got the Gypsy.

When I connect the Gypsy to my Cricut, it says I have to update the firmware on the Cricut, but I'm reluctant to do so in case it disables SCAL. Does anyone know what the most current Cricut firmware is and if it still works with SCAL?

I have 2.34 on my Expression. I have had my Gypsy for over a year now. I have switched between Gyspy and SCAL2 for the entire time. I worried about the latest update when they were giving free cartridge downloads and changing to the Cricut Sync so I tried it on my Create first and it worked fine with both so then I tried my Expression and everything still works fine.
