Monogram Font Suggestion please

Post by bamaslp »

Hi, I am very new to SCAL. I have been searching for a beautiful monogram to use. It is very flowy and the "tails" curl around at the top and bottom flowing over the other initials. I hope this makes sense! Any help is appreciated...

I saw "18 free monogram fonts" listed in google search. It shows pictures of some nice ones.

I love monogram kk but I'm having problems weeding it because the curly's are so thin. Can anyone suggest another curly font that has wider curly's or give me tips on how to weed it? Thanks!

Most of that type of font are pretty delicate. You can beef it up a little by using the shadow feature in SCAL or one of the Offset features in Inkscape. I do this all of the time to make a font easier to use at smaller sizes.

Thank you for your help! I like KK, but I want something a little curlier. The others that I have found all slant to the right...Oh well! I was wanting the fancier monogram for an etching.

Do you want the font to lean or be upright? Here are a couple, but they both lean.

Here is one that doesn't lean.

The one you are looking for is probably Vine Monograms. You can purchase it at fontbros.com

Thank you all for your suggestions! It seems all of the monograms that I have found has excess of curls/tails only on the left side. It is hard to balance 3 initials when it is like that...

The vine monogram is closest to what I am looking for. I sure was hoping I could find it for free though! ;) Thanks again! Heather

Heather,
Darling Monograms is another popular one but it isn't free either.

Another one that most people have installed on their computers is Curlz.
