Random question...which markers do you prefer?

Post by Theshiftyfox »

I'm debating which marker adapter to get for the cricut...the sharpie mini or the sharpie micro. Anyone prefer one over the other? I'm leaning toward the micro but don't want the tip to be TOO fine...
Do you have a fav?

What adaptors are you talking about?

There are 3 different ones. A gel pen holder, a mini marker, and a micro marker.

I may be totally wrong here, but I thought you could just use the pens as is in the Cricut without the need for a holder? Anyone else???

I bought the Staples brand mini gel pens and some generic grips. They work great. The grips are a little tough to get on the mini Sharpies, but I have the Cricut pens so I don't really need the Sharpie.

That's correct, you can use Cricut markers as is. The adaptors are for using OTHER brands and kinds of pens.

Sorry, maybe I didn't clarify myself. I thought you could use the Mini Sharpies and Mini Gels in the cricut without the use of holders or adapters. Anyone???

The markers are actually too thin but if you put one of those pencil grippers (foam things that come in packages of about 10 - in different colors) over the marker it works perfect.

Have you considered cutting the grip (making a cut along the length of the grip)? That should make it much easier to put the grip on and take it off, but it should not make too much of a difference in how it grips the pens or or it fits into the blade housing.

I like the one made by Cri-kits. They come with the gel pens but you can adapt the Staples mini gel pens by cutting off about 1/4 inch of the ink barrel and putting it in the Cri-kits gel pen and then use in the Cricut.
