New Downloads

Post by Sancho »

When craftedge has a new download available, where do they post it ?

I happened to notice people talking about 2.023 and I downloaded it this weekend and then HeatherM posted a few posts into a thread about a different topic that there was a 2.024. I'm just curious where I can find this information without relying on happening to read a post where someone mentions it?

Thanks.

I am sure they will announce it sooner or later but for now this is the only way. I think maybe because they are still working on a few bugs and fixing them as they are reported before the official announcement. I don't know that is just what I believe.

I suggest you/we just start downloading the app daily. I don't understand why Craft Edge can't be bothered to update the downloads page & release notes when they post a new version. If there's that much churn in the code, then keep it in beta with a closed set of users. These stealth postings of new versions with no documentation are very unprofessional IMHO as a software developer.

P.S. When I downloaded today I noticed that 2.023 is now available for Mac OS.

Nope, they've gone back to 2.012 on the downloads too. I downloaded 2.024 this morning, but now it's 2.012 again. I would guess that it's like 2.013 and there were too many complaints.

I agree that I spend a lot of my time confused about the most recent updates. I think that in addition to updating their downloads page, maybe they could build something into the application that allows the user to check for updates within the application. I originally thought they had something like that but I just checked and there isn't anything that I can see. Usually it shows up in either the Help tab or About tab and there is nothing that I can see in the program. Sure would be nice though because then we could just check each day or each time we use our SCAL.
