still cant run scal 2 and getting really fed up now

i have gone back and forward with support but am still no nearer then at the beginning only i have had to have my laptop wiped and reinstall had to load all my software again everything great except scal 2 have downloaded scal and installed and activated it and scal lib but scal2 will not install and have not heard anything from support since
i really do no what to do

When you say it will not install, what is happening?

Do you get an error message or something else?

Did you deactivate and uninstall then restart your computer before you tried installing it again? (SCAL is programmed to only allow 2 installations so if you didn't deactivate it before trying again, it won't install and will stay in trial version.)

Also, did you turn off your virus scanning and malware programs before you installed it? I have Mcafee and know that it causes problems with my SCAL software. Spybot does too.

Keep sending your emails to support@craftedge.com They normally get back to you within 24 hours unless it's a holiday. Please be patient and keep at it. Sometimes it takes several tries to fix your computer so that SCAL will work. It's best to try one thing at a time to isolate the problem so that can take several emails back and forth to figure out what your particular computer needs.

I think the new generation of computers is a lot fussier than they used to be. I had a problem with my internet provider and it took 2 days and 5 phone calls to techinical support before we determined that one of my critical windows settings were changed. I didn't change them so can only think that it happened with one of the automatic update features in a software program on my computer.

trial version would be something i cannot even get that i get the little oval scal sign thats it and the the message scal is not working and has to close and as for installing only twice its been installed and uninstalled about 30 times in safe mode without any virus or firewall programs it was fine until i updated it or should i say tried to update it

Not sure what type of computer you have, but this info is for Windows operating systems.

I think the problem is that you installed too many times. Unless you deactivated SCAL each time you uninstalled it, you went over the limit so it won't work.

**** SCAL can only be installed twice then locks until the folks at Craftedge reset it on their computer. ****

Send them another email at support@craftedge.com and explain so they can reset your numbers so you can get 2 more installation. Then uninstall SCAL from the Control Panel and restart your computer. Also add their email address to your email list so their replies don't go into your spam/trash bin.

Then install this older version 2.08 which can be downloaded here:

This would be for Windows operating systems. You would need to get the MAC version from Craft Edge.

Then make sure you download and install the driver 2.06 from this site:

Also, I wouldn't install it in safe mode. Just turn off your virus software while you download from the Mediafire site and while you are installing SCAL. The reason you need to turn off the virus software is that it can block parts of the SCAL installation from working so you get an error message. I had problems with Mcafee and have heard from other users that Spybot caused problems for them too.

After you get that done, then go onto the Craftedge website and activate your SCAL software with your serial number.

Hopefully that will get you up and going again.

thank you soooooooooooo much for the info i have emailed them ,but what i dont understand is they new all of what i have told you so why did they not no that and reset it before ,instead of telling me to try to install it again with a link they sent me and then run it in safe mode ( that when the real problems started ) but after all that still heard nothing
and i would not mind but i was only trying to update it in the beginning anyway everything was fine before and its only windows vista im running nothing new

They may have already reset them back to 2 when they sent you the link but didn't mention it in the email.

If what CE told you isn't working then try emailing again as they may have another version you can try installing or different drivers etc. I know that it's really frustrating, but keep up with the emails. There's been several members here on our forum that had to work at it for many days before they were able to find out the problem and get it fixed. Each computer is different so for most problems there isn't a instant fix to make it work. It's pretty much trial and error so just keep on doing what ever they suggest until you find the settings and update version that work on your computer. My suggestions are just general ones that fixed the problems for other members. It works for some computers but not all.

well had it reset
and it still not working have emailed them again im so annoyed with this software it downloads as normal install as normal right up to launch scal2 the logo appears then thats it i get the scal2 has stopped working message again
